Micro-census Data Disclosure Risks
The risk of identifying an individual depends on finding an unique match between a number of variables describing an individual’s characteristics (e.g. age, sex, occupation) used as a match key and a census records for a given area of interest that contain the same variables plus others that are to be disclosed
A crude measure of risk is obtained by counting the number of unique ‘hits’ using the match key variables with records in a data subset
