Introduction
Organisation
- The organisation of SoG has undergone considerable change. It has evolved a research focus and I hope that it will continue to become more open and collaborative.
- A good way to organise SoG is via the development of high quality web content made available on the world wide web.
- Due to the confidential nature of some material about the internal functioning of SoG, much of the information is stored on an Intranet where access is controlled to files for specific individuals and groups. This is called "The N drive".

My Roles and Responsibilities
- Administration
- I was assigned my first administrative duty as I attended my first Research Staff Meeting way back in 1997. The task was to take and distribute notes for the meetings :)
- Mentoring
- This is an informal arrangement in SoG.
- I provide advice to various colleagues and students and detail work related aspects of this in my blog.
- Social Responsibilities
- There is a Social Rota which allocates these responsibilities
- I have enjoyed helping out at graduation ceremonies, celebrating the fountain of knowledge...
- Helping to organise a Christmas Party was a dreadful experience! Thanks for relieving me of this duty :)

- This meeting sounded almost identical to one Jonathan told me about last week. Regardless it seemed largely like a waste of time!
