Agenda
- None - perhaps a mistake given the meeting complexity!
Notes
- This meeting took place via Access Grid although it was originally planned to be a three way discussion between Mike, Andy and Chris others were invited in an attempt to be open and efficient.
- I had technical difficulty with the Access Grid Facility at the School of Geography mainly caused by it being switched off.
- I joined the meeting on an audio feed using my office telephone.
- Steven Pickles gave a presentation to intoduce the NGS and explain what NGS can do for data providers and what is out of scope
- What does it mean to Grid Enable data?
- What does it mean to make data available in grid friendly ways?
- NGS can only provide something like a monthly cache and none of the data is backed up
- Shebangs and Shibgrid are more to deal with users that don't have a UK eScience certificate rather than authenticating to multiple data providers.
- Simon Collins(sp?) is joining the NGS team at Manchester as a data consultant.
- Chris Higgins gave an overview of the GeoLinking IE work
- Good discussion
- Mike is allowing a great deal of flexibility for the MoSeS NCeSS e-Infrastructure work
Action List
