The JISC Grid OGC Collision Programme ran from 2006-10-10 to 2008-05-30. The aim was to consider Grid computing in the development of Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards and the enactment and utilisation of Web services outwith the Grid computing environment to develop more complex workflows. The OGC table joining service standard version 1.0 emerged from this work. The main other standards considered were The OGC Web Processing Service (WPS) and The OGC GeoXACML Implementation Specification - a geo-specific extension to The OASIS eXtensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML).
