Agenda
- No agenda: Any business?!
Notes
- Report Generation for Applications
- PDF generation now works.
- I am still concerned about us getting stuck in the mindset of static visualisation for analysis.
- Printing out documents and taking them to meetings and discussing them to make policy is surely the old wy of working and we should be encouraging the interactive new way of working.
- Perhaps for now this is still our way in and once we are in we can introduce a new way of working...
- Paul working on having a key/legend to accompany the maps :-)
- He really is becoming a good geographer!
- Good progress!
- Paul and Mark have submitted different abstracts for the 4th International Conference on e-Social Science.
- All the MoSeS portal functionality is being redone as web services, but Paul too busy to get onto this right away.
- It is good that it is coming, but it would be better if he could get onto this right away without having to cludge more things together.
- We looked at the protal together and marvelled at GeoServer and Google Earth.
- We talked about open data and open standards compliant open source software
- I argued that such collaboration is what we are about and how we can compete and make a difference.
- Mark argued that you should use the best/the most visually impressive and that he didn't care for the non-professionals.
- I managed to stop us talking about this before we wound each other up. I think Paul was mildly entertained sitting on the fence.
- We looked at OpenStreetMap data on OpenAerialMap.
- We looked at the license for 2001 UK Human Population Census data disseminated by ONS:
