Notes
- There was no provisional agenda for this meeting which was arranged by Mark.
- Mark introduced the meeting while Belinda was held up in another meeting with Phil Rees.
- The main reason for the meeting was to introduce René to the work on-going in MoSeS and for her to outline her plans.
- Andy gave overview of the Population Initialisation process and the datasets we are attempting to create.
- What housing variables are in/can be derived from the HSAR and ISAR?
- It might be that for some applications (e.g. housing) some re-optimisation (Population Re-Initialisation) might be desirable:
- Tenure, for example, is not used as a constraining variable.
- Unitary Development Plan (UDP) for Leeds and other UK regions are not collected into a single national database?
- Having talked to Leeds City Council (LCC), DS and MB think that plans have changed considerably from the UDP, but that little data or documentation is available.
- It is difficult to get information about how much property is being built and is planned for small areas on a UK scale?
- DS looking at the fit of tenure (numbers in owned, social rented, private rented or other) in the Iterative Proportional Sampling (IPS) data generated by Mark.
- Pupil Level Annual School Census (PLASC)
- We have the data for Leeds for 2001-2006.
- Supplier: Education Leeds.
- Contact: Kirk Harland
- Kirk cleaned the data and Education Leeds provided a form on request to extend its licence for use in MoSeS.
- We are unlikely to get any more data.
- Are PLASC data collected nationally? - Do they have the same data or better in Scotland etc...
- Belinda gave an overview of the Dynamic Modelling
- Policy Impact
- René
- PhD supervised by Mark and Andy Evans
- Interest in immigration, houseprice and social cohesion
