- Meeting with Mark
- Hardware for NeISS
- Mark happy to go with the Plan A whereby NGS/WRG/ISS maintain the hardware and provide what we need :-)
- Progress with project data work
- I mentioned I was making progress with constraining movements to Open Street Map Network using Traveling Salesman
- Belinda seems to be using the data I generated :-)
- I'm hoping she can use/develop some conversion tool to transform the data into what she requires for dynamic modelling:
- Age is perhaps the most important variable to change.
- A probablistic adjustment based on individual age distributions for local areas would perhaps be best.
- I could do this, but I think Jin has already done something, so hopefully Belinda can use that.
- Each adjustment will probably result in a new record, so if the results are to be stored as a file this will have implications.
- Depending on how many variables are to be adjusted, then it might be better to boost the ISAR and HSAR prior to optimisation through the GA
- The boosted set could then be stored once, and the results for any optimisation could reference this by some ID variable.
- Mark to follow this up with Belinda...

- Meeting with Junaid
- Junaid making progress on setting up a test installation of Sakai

- There might still be a couple of issues to address with security...

- On geo-s12 a different tomcat was running
- Paul seems to be using a more recent version of tomcat for GENESIS development...
- I shutdown this and changed CATALINA_HOME to point to /usr/bin/apache-tomcat-5.5.17/ and restarted that tomcat...
- Logged into the MoSeS portal as Admin and got the GLS Client up and sent various geolink requests:
- Nothing was totally successful, but we got some data back from some scottish boundaries including the Output Area with code (60QG000382) although upon inspection these were not linked to the attribute data...

- Checked results for Belinda for Output Area (OA) data sets starting 00A
- Belinda was concerned that population totals too low for London.
- For my ISARHP_ISARCEP result population count is:
- For my HSARHP_ISARCEP result population count is:
- From table KS001 at OA population count is:
- From table CS001 at OA population count is:
- 5049909
- This table is used to control constrain.
- I expect the difference is a result of SDC measures (mainly SCAM).
- Albeit slight, the difference does prompt me to do some further checking...
- For London it is likely that OA data for areas starting 00B are also wanted as Belinda was seemingly expecting this.
- From table KS001 at OA population count is:
- From table CS001 at OA population count is:
- I zipped and uploaded data for 00B to the NCeSS Sakai Portal : MoSeS Worksite:
- The HSARHP_ISARCEP data is here:
- The ISARHP_ISARCEP data is here:
- While I was at it, I zipped and uploaded data for the whole UK to the NCeSS Sakai Portal : MoSeS Worksite:
- The HSARHP_ISARCEP data is here:
- The ISARHP_ISARCEP data zipped up, but for some reason would not upload.
- It is a relatively large file, so perhaps there is a timeout or something (it is within the 1024MB limit)...

- Data structures
- A grid or grids can be used to store the network.
-
- One advantage is that this data structure scales well.
- It is perhaps best to use distict grids, each one providing information about the link in a particular direction, or the maximum number of agents in a location...
- An alternative is to use a single grid with 3 times as many rows and columns...
