- Meeting with Mark about demonstrator funding
- Mark has had meetings with June Finch and discussed, but will now be away for two weeks so is leaving this with me.
- I am to arrange a meeting with Paul and Junaid and possibly Pascal to discuss this.
- Idea is to develop 3 workflows:
- Report workflow which should already be done as part of MoSeS.
- A ConverterGrid workflow to aggregate results.
- A workflow for running a Spatial Interaction Model for optimising hospital placement.

- Zipped up and put data on the NCeSS Sakai Portal : MoSeS Worksite : Resources
- There is a readme and a zip file:
- /Data/Population Initialisation/OA_ISARHP_ISARCEP/00ACSV_1/readme.txt
- /Data/Population Initialisation/OA_ISARHP_ISARCEP/00ACSV_1/00A_CSV.zip
- This data is primarily for Belinda to use in her regional model of the South East of England.
- It is a set:
- For all output areas with a code starting 00A.
-
- With Individual SAR representing Household Populations.
- Seemingly hitting disk space issues on NGS...
- NGS Leeds seems to be exeriencing difficulty trying:

- Ideas for improving Genetic Algorithm
- Allow several mutations before selecting best fitting solutions
- Implement breeding that combines multiple solutions e.g. crossover etc...
- This might speed up early part of optimisation.
- For the time being though, mutation seems to work fine...
- Given the nature of the populations and the way they are divided it is sensible to have a way to mutate all parts simulatneously.
- Refactored IndividualCensus_ISARHP_ISARCEP etc so that more similar control constraints in place as for IndividualCensus_HSARHP_ISARCEP

- Notes
- Current work with NCeSS e-IP Security WP
- Almost done with all Security WP.
- One small problem discussed with Steve Swinsburg will hopefully be resolved this week.
- Work Plan for next 5 Months (deliverables etc.)
- After next week all Junaid's worktime should focus on delivery of Leeds work on Work Package 4.1
- NCeSS Sakai Portal : ESRC e-IP Worksite : Wiki : Work Package 4.1 Page
- We discussed each deliverable.
- Junaid to start by getting the GLS Service back working...
- Key work is to get Paul's MoSeS/GENESIS work added into NCeSS Sakai Portal : ESRC e-IP Worksite.
- Looking ahead after NCeSS e-IP/Junaid's current employment contract
- Junaid's current contract expires at the end of October.
- Junaid advised to:
- Bring this up in SRDS meeting.
- Discuss with Mark Birkin about work on NeISS and with Jie Xu if there are any opportunities
- Liaise with Hazel Blackburn to consider getting on the redeployment register.
- Junaid hoping to do full-time work as a researcher at the University of Leeds in January and switch to complete his PhD as a part-time student.
- It may be that Junaid can do additional work for the University of Manchester to document the security workpackage in November and December.
- SRDS Meeting
- Junaid happy that John Stillwell will conduct the review as reviewer.
- Junaid has all documentation required for this.
- He can not only expect feedback from me, but positive feedback...
- Junaid advised to ask Paul Townend verbally for feedback tomorrow (or when he next sees Paul) just in case email communication is not getting through.
- AoB
- Junaid forced to take leave last month and is to liaise with Hazel Blackburn to know what type of leave this was and whether he has any remaining leave.
- Next meeting to be arranged soon after 2009-07-21.
