Notes
- GLS (Michael and Lihao)
- No Problems experienced with GeoLinking data.
- A dummy GDAS has been set up to return the data in the right format.
- Work to output GML with extra attributes is nearly complete.
- Work to output raster image using an SLD is progressing:
- SLD is a little tricky
- None of available tools MapServer, GeoTools use appear to use streams and OGSA-DAI uses streams.
- For the time being, no streams are being used for GML to Raster conversion.
- GDAS (MIMAS)
- Open source GDAS server based on NFIS 0.10.1 Open Source GDAS
- Implementing DataHandler
- Implemented GetCapabilities
- Pascal to send URL
- XSD Schema easy enough once you've got the head round it
- Providing a Schema for all Census data is a big job and out of scope for this.
- Maybe Ken Miller will pick up on this and some resources will be forthcoming from the NCeSS e-Infrastructure project to do this work.
- Implemented descibe process
- XML KDB
- GDAS Accessor (NeSC)
- CSV being used rather than XML in the GLS, but we should use XML so Ally is to write a converter to go from XML to CSV.
- I wonder if this will be an XSL XPATH thing...
- GLS client (Andy and Paul)
- Paul reported progress :)
- References
- Requested Mike Crabtree to open up the firewall on geo-s12 so that we can query a URL and get a response back over HTTP
- SEE-GEO Consortium Agreement (Chris)
- Consortium agreement getting there...
- Report on GeoLinking IE Ad Hoc at OGC Meeting in Ottawa
- David Medyckyj-Scott reported to Chris Higgins
- Peter Schut reckons we are 1 month from testing phase.
- If we progress as planned we should be caught up with others.
- Peter Schut's group open sourcing their GDAS on sourceforge
- This works/relies on an Oracle on the backend.
- Can WPS support geolinking?
- GML or URL output is an issue.
- Report on NCeSS e-Infrastructure SEE-GEO Joint Meeting 2007-04-11
- And Turner's NCeSS e-Infrastructure SEE-GEO Joint Meeting 2007-04-11 Web Page
- Meeting broadened out and became more of a get to know you meeting than anything of substance.
- Link between the projects more clearly recognised
- Exchange of project documentation.
- Exchange of expert contacts (security).
- Ken Miller to get in touch about which datasets to Grid Enable:
- EDINA Data
- MIMAS Data
- MoSeS Data
- Demographic Model Outputs (mainly forecasts from dynamic model)
- Next steps, next meeting
- Same time next week, Keith won't make it.
- AOB
- OGSA-DAI issues and testing
- Can the problems Pascal has had be replicated by OGSA-DAI team?
- Publication and dissemination
- We are obliged to write this up by end of June
- Chris OGF20 presentations May
Action List
- Andy Turner
- Ask OSGeo connections for advice on existence, availability and appropriate FOSS software for GML to Raster conversion using streams (for OGSA-DAI).
- OGSA-DAI has pipeline architecture. It is designed like that to work fast in a multi-threaded way with streams of data.
- On-going Actions from previous meetings
